Energy
THE CLIENT
A leading global energy innovator, equipment manufacturer and service provider
THE CHALLENGE
Our client, a longtime leader in the energy industry, promised to play a critical role in solving the world’s energy and climate challenges in the coming years. Doing so requires it to collaborate closely with customers, investors, employees and other key stakeholders. The company needs to keep those highly valuable audiences engaged and inspired by retaining marketing and communications staff to deliver proven storytelling strategies and develop new types of innovative stories and thought leadership.
THE ANSWER
After partnering with our client almost a decade ago, we’ve used honest, sophisticated storytelling to enlighten and enchant the audiences that our client values the most: energy customers, employees and prospective talent, investors, regulators, policymakers and the media. So we maintain a tight team to help them hone their voice and refine their efforts to reach energy-specific audiences. During 50-plus strategy meetings per year, our team of energy editors and writers brainstorms content and spends hours with corporate sources in order to produce half a dozen stories a month. And today our client is widely regarded as one of the world’s most important energy technology companies.

Global Payment Services
THE CLIENT
One the world’s most iconic financial brands and largest financial technology firms
THE CHALLENGE
In 2020, our client needed to turn the dreary corporate newsroom section of its website into a world-class center of content, storytelling and ideas. No more press releases packed with jargon. It needed stories about real people and technologies that could engage banking industry decision-makers and the media. Internally, our client had a crackerjack team of communicators eager to publicize well-written content. Now they needed creative partners who could produce the stories that would bring the site to life.
THE ANSWER
Enter Fitch Ink’s curated team of expert researchers and journalists, bringing with us unmatched investigative reporting, writing and editing skills. We provided a dedicated team of top editors and subject-matter experts to produce engaging tales from across the client’s world. We helped them organize an editorial process, including a briefing document that would help focus every story, and build out a calendar. Most of all, we built a real relationship with our client’s communications team. The partnership has proved so successful that five years later, Fitch Ink is not only the diesel engine behind the client’s content but also for other sales and marketing groups in other departments and subsidiaries.

Health Care
THE CLIENT
One of the largest hospital systems and medical schools in the world, as well as a key force in the rise of telehealth and accessibility
THE CHALLENGE
Even when you’re ranked in the top 1% of hospital systems nationally, employing tens of thousands of doctors and other medical professionals, it can still be difficult to stand out in the hypercompetitive New York metro region. For our client, the key to differentiation lay in the minds of the talented physicians, surgeons, and specialists upon whom the health system’s stellar reputation was established. But doctors are often far too busy healing patients and saving lives to do much else. How to tap into all those big, beautiful brains?
THE ANSWER
We built a newsroom staffed with expert writers, editors, art directors and digital designers, then set up a content curation and creation system designed to provide world-class thought leadership in the form of a comprehensive digital health article library for the regional audience and beyond. We treat the doctors as revered experts and conduct intense, informative and inspiring hourlong interviews with them to ghostwrite stories highlighting their unique wisdom and vision across dozens of important health topics. We also developed a company newsletter expertly reporting on stories across the entire client ecosystem.

Investment Banking
THE CLIENT
A major independent multinational investment banking and management firm
THE CHALLENGE
Our client’s investment strategists are global leaders in spotting market opportunities and connecting current developments with historical patterns. But their provocative insights ended up buried in analyst reports that rarely reached a wider audience. The strategists wanted to raise their public profile and expand on their investment insights in accessible formats that would attract a broader professional and enthusiast following. How could they develop more ambitious and engaging content while also staying on top of their core mission of by-the-moment market developments?
THE ANSWER
Before 2020, novel insights from members of the client’s brilliant leadership had appeared siloed in blog posts, reports and presentations, but after establishing our partnership we brought the full power of an investigative content-creation team in to both audit the competition and engage in a deep discovery process before conducting interviews and research to ghostwrite and edit longform “big idea” papers and a timely multimedia thought-leadership series, drawing upon and weaving together years of market expertise into a compelling investment theory that elevates the reputation of the client’s strategy team as global finance experts working at the highest level. We maximize the diversity and form of our content for multichannel dissemination, amplifying the client’s groundbreaking ideas.

Aerospace
THE CLIENT
A legendary innovation leader in aerospace propulsion, services and systems
THE CHALLENGE
A longstanding global leader in the aviation business, our client was keen to retain their committed audience of industry watchers, investors and enthusiasts as they switched to a new platform. Even as a pioneer in the art of corporate storytelling, they needed help managing the transition from legacy branded writing to fresh, forward-thinking multimedia content to narrate their new path. They needed to maintain their high quality and authoritative voice while creating and fine-tuning a new content ecosystem. And they needed to grow their audience.
THE ANSWER
Fitch Ink had produced a decade of legacy content for our client, so we were able to hit the ground running. We maintained a well-oiled content curation system, steadily tracking each assignment through multiple stages (interviews, reporting, writing, editing, copy editing, staging, and publishing); managed a standing weekly strategy meeting; added expert writers to our freelance pool; worked with our client to streamline the review process, create a standard stylebook, and improve SEO; and produced seven pieces a month on average in a wide variety of formats, including narratives, profiles, news reports, infographics, Q and As, listicles and thought leadership. Our content scored a significant year-over-year increase in readership.

Medical Technology
THE CLIENT
A leading global medical-technology innovation and systems company
THE CHALLENGE
Though Fitch Ink had been producing long-form articles on health care topics for the client for years, they needed to let the world know exactly how and why they were venturing out as an innovation-focused standalone company. Our client also needed help figuring out who its most valuable audience members were — and how it could tailor new and improved content for that new, more specialized readership, composed of health care pros drawn to colorful, fresh, patient-centric stories.
THE ANSWER
Our client’s true core audience wanted stories that were concise but also eloquent, especially in regards to matters of medicine and science, so we retooled our content creation team. We established a dedicated managing editor with a background in health care, urged our client’s top communicators to collaborate with us on an editorial calendar, and built a team of specialized writers with deep experience reporting on medicine and science. Together, we’re telling stories and creating multimedia assets that leverage our client’s longstanding reputation while also shining a light on its vision for the future.

Wealth Management
THE CLIENT
An iconic asset-management firm and world-renowned name in private credit
THE CHALLENGE
Marketing to the wealth segment of the asset-management industry demanded drawing attention to a company that was publicity-shy. A veritable flood of content was needed to serve their various client segments, including wealthy investors and wholesale resellers that demanded original content. Making matters more complicated, the client had only one staff member dedicated to marketing and didn’t want to distract investment professionals from their core work. How to extract all that expert content and deliver it to the critical audience?
THE ANSWER
Fitch Ink developed a full-spectrum, 18-month content strategy reflecting the industry’s sales cycle. We developed both longer-term investor educational materials as well as timely insights. Content for both verticals was then developed to focus on the products being sold — investing in infrastructure and private credit — while also producing engaging stories to defend the firm’s real estate franchise. Our team established a rhythm of white papers, thought leadership, short blog pieces and social media content intended to draw attention to the new brand. Crucially, we also developed a strategy that produced short-form, wholesaler-focused pieces that could be lengthened later for use elsewhere, including in a new quarterly, flagship publication. Since we’d been tasked with requiring minimal input from busy investment teams, we had to be extremely resourceful and draw much of the information we needed for our new content ecosystem by repurposing materials from webinars and conferences. Our efforts were critical in raising more than $10 billion in new assets.

Financial Technology
THE CLIENT
A collective of 500-plus fintech companies working in cybersecurity, open banking, compliance and other areas
THE CHALLENGE
Our client wanted to draw attention to the explosion of innovation happening in its backyard, led by a new generation of entrepreneurs hoping to one day enjoy the type of success and growth that saw predecessors become acquisition targets with valuations in the billions of dollars. With Silicon Valley drawing the lion’s share of attention, our client wanted to train a fresh spotlight on their region as a lively and fertile home for innovative financial-services solutions competing globally.
THE ANSWER
To support our client’s mission of creating a durable and enduring community geared for growth, we updated and refreshed their website to tell the story of a burgeoning hotbed of financial technology that’s ready to compete with San Francisco, Singapore, and London for investment capital. We crafted the collective’s longform origin story and began profiling up-and-coming startups to showcase what makes them great. Beyond their deep roots in finance and technology, our stories explored what makes the client’s region such a hotbed of innovation — namely, a compelling combination of government support, natural beauty, excellent education, strong community and a work-life balance that most innovation hubs can only dream of. After our first batch of feature stories drew strong media attention and saw huge audience growth, the client inked a long-term content partnership with our team to produce ongoing articles highlighting advances being made at some of the most exciting startups in North America.
